Dunkeld Garden Room Extension
This rural cottage renovation replaced a cramped kitchen and dark lean-to with a green oak frame extension. The glazed gable connects the house to the garden and woodland views, while large rooflights brighten the central kitchen and dining area.
DUNKELD GARDEN ROOM EXTENSION, PERTHSHIRE
The existing kitchen in this rural cottage was cramped and gloomy, and the house had a poor connection to the back garden and the beautiful woodland beyond it. The existing lean-to extension was replaced with new green oak frame extension with a pitched roof to mirror the gable ends of the adjacent property. The new glazed gable opens up the house to the garden through bi-fold doors and the full height glazing allows long views up to the tree canopy of the beautiful woodland behind the house. Large rooflights bring natural light into the central kitchen and dining area. Completed 2016 Photography – Fernandes Binns Architects |
