Bonnyrigg Cottage Refurbishment
The Bonnyrigg Cottage Refurbishment tackled a 19th Century cottage with problematic alterations, including awkward circulation and UPVC windows. The project involved undoing these changes, repairing the original structure, and improving insulation to create a cozy, modern living space while preserving the cottage's charm.
BONNYRIGG COTTAGE REFURBISHMENT
This 19th Century cottage in Bonnyrigg had been much altered over the years including unsympathetic rear extensions and UPVC windows. The internal layout was awkward and there were problems with damp, poor thermal insulation and the condition of the roof and external walls. The beautiful original stair tower at the rear had been partly hidden with the addition of a wrap around extension. Much of this project consisted in unpicking the out of character additions; repairing the existing fabric and insulating wherever possible, to provide a warm and comfortable home, suitable for modern living.
