STUDY SPACE FIT OUT FOR THE UNIVERSITY OF EDINBURGH, SCHOOL OF INFORMATICS AT APPLETON TOWER
The project was for fit out works within the 1960’s Appleton Tower to form teaching, study and meeting room spaces for the School of Informatics. The existing teaching spaces had awkward circulation, with low ceiling heights and poor natural light to the main lobby area. Redundant services were removed to allow for raising ceiling heights and acoustically rated glazed screens were fitted to open up the lobby area to the study spaces. The design was carefully coordinated in advance to allow the works to take place in a short window during the summer holidays and were completed on programme and on budget.
